I've been ordering pizzas delivered from Arianna's lakeside for over 15 years, since Mary Angela's doesn't deliver to my area. A few days ago I ordered an XL pizza for delivery and was notified that it was ready within about 5 minutes, and on.its way. When it arrived, the pizza was cooked but onions were raw and sprinkled on. It was the most flavorless pizza I've ever had. It tasted like it had either been reheated after sitting around for hours or like it had been made, then frozen and quickly heated. Pepperoni tasted old/unfresh. Sauce was flavorless. Crust was overcooked and tough, not soft and flexible. We sent the restaurant a message via email, but received no reply. Until they can tell me what they did differently with my pizza and why it was ready and cooked so quickly and had no flavor, I do NOT recommend buying pizza from them. There's much better pizza in this town. Unless you want to pay more than 40 bucks for pizza that's worse than Little Caesars.

So I've gone to and ordered from Arianna's Lakeside since we first moved into this house back in the early 2000's. Semi-weekly lunches when i worked up the road at Dr. Circeo's office. ALWAYS recommended them because of food/service/atmosphere. NOT TODAY!! Last night, we ordered pizza, calzone, and two deserts. $70+ after food, service, delivery, tip etc. Get a text @8pm that it would arrive around 9pm, a little later an updated ETA of 9:30pm. Cool. we are watching a movie upstairs, no big, i'll get a text or something when on the way. NO, crickets from that point on. 9:30 comes and goes, nothing, i check my phone, NO text, nothing. close to 10pm now i decide to just check out side incase they are lost (it happens). THERE IS MY FOOD, sitting on my front steps, for god knows how long. No door bell rung, no text made. Couldn't call and complain, because they were closed. When i called today to complain/request refund, I'm told the owner- Tony, was the delivery guy, he had other deliveries to make. he Knocked...so they will refund the tip. THE TIP!? no. there is a working doorbell, it's a camera, it lights up when you walk onto the porch. you were able to text me that

We've been ordering this pizza for year- the Californian w/fresh basil- it's fantastic! They've improved the crust in the last couple years, I feel like the ingredients are high quality. we also order the Tuscan Calzone (again w/fresh basil), it's quite tasty. The service is always great- super friendly staff. We only ever do take-out cause we live so close but I'd eat in too for a casual dinner.

We decided to pass up on Olive Garden to give this place a try and it was a great decision! They make their sauces in house they use wine and the recipe which gives it a fantastic authentic flavor. Frida was great very attentive and filled me in on the food. Would highly recommend this next time we travel through there we're going to make a point to stop again!

As a local chef in RVA, I’m very hard to impress when it comes to dining out. My husband is a big Italian food lover, and my whole family is always chasing a pizza that reminds us of the ones we used to get back in New York. We recently found this hidden gem, and we’ve already been a few times—mostly just for the pizza because we’re honestly obsessed. Today we decided to try the pasta, and it did not disappoint. We ordered the lasagna and the penne alla vodka… 10/10. The service is always 10/10, and we paired it with red and white wine—both were delicious.
